Fokker F27 returns to The Netherlands.

    November 3rd 2020,

VNCE (Foundation for Flying Dutch Cultural Heritage) bought one of the two F27 (C-31A) Troopships. They belonged to the US Army since November 1985 after delivery from the Fokker factories. The aircraft were part of the famous Golden Knights, a paratroopers demonstration team, performing into most major airshows in the U.S.  Since 2018 the Troopships were withdrawn from service. The new Dash 8 is replacing them and a perfect choice for this demo team and their special mission. “Excalibur” as this Fokker is called, came in from Canada and then via Iceland directly into Lelystad, The Netherlands a day later. VNCE has it’s office in The Hague and their goal is restore, purchase and operate aircraft which played part in Dutch aviation history. Therefore the aircraft can be seen and admired for generations to come.
