Icelandair Boeing 757-300 ‘þingvellir’ streams flap vortices in the flare for Runway 28 at a stormy Dublin Airport, arriving from Keflavík International Airport with the morning FI416 service.
One of two 757-300s in service with the Icelandic flag carrier – and the only one flying at the present time with sistership TF-FIX ‘Hengill’ temporarily stored – the aircraft is painted in a unique commemorative scheme, that celebrated 100 years of Icelandic National Sovereignty in 2018.
It is named ‘þingvellir’ after the UNESCO World Heritage Site and national park located in the Southern Region of Iceland, or Suðurland.
