This DHC-2 Beaver was deliverd to the Cuban Airforce in 1959. It found its way to the United States Department of the Interior in 1968. It served with various government agencies and was last employed by the Fish and Wildlife Service. Somewhere in its live it was fitted with a Garrett AiResearch turbine powerplant by Volpar Inc., Van Nuys, CA. Modified with two additional wing tanks, strengthened cabin floor, and cockpit moved forwards.It is the only Beaver converted in this way. Its far from gracfull lines can now be seen inside the terminal of Anchorage Ted Stevens airport.
